Villa Adelaide is a recently renovated complex of two old traditional Istrian houses in the small Venetian-style town of Vodnjan (Dignano). The houses are situated in one garden, with a swimming pool between them. They are rented as one, and in total comprise of five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The houses are beautifully renovated – with traditional Mediterranean terracotta colours outside and cool, summery sand and creams inside. There is an airy feel throughout and from the top bedroom there is a wonderful view of the sea and the Adriatic islands of Brioni.

The house is very private, but is a stone’s throw from cafes, ice cream shops and wonderful restaurants of Vodnjan, some of which are very upmarket, but others are pizzerias and simple tavernas and bistros with wonderful mixed grills or locally caught fresh fish. Typical local food is pasta and so there is lots of choice for adults and children.

ACCOMMODATION

On the ground floor and next to the swimming pool is a very tastefully furnished sitting room, in a contemporary style, with modern sofas and additional seating areas. The TV/DVD/ music system is in this room. An attractive fireplace is a feature from which you walk through to a very well equipped modern kitchen with fridge, freezer, gas hob & oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster & kettle, plenty of new crockery & glass and all the necessary equipment for cooking. There is a good storage area for food and wine. There is seating for ten around the dining table in the adjoining dining area. In the small house there is a separate small kitchen and dining table, which can also be used by the guests.

The villa complex has five bedrooms – two double bedrooms and bathrooms in the small villa and three large bedrooms and two bathrooms in the larger villa. On the first floor of the larger villa there is one large double bedroom and a smaller room with twin beds as well as one bathroom. Another set of stairs leads to a spacious second floor double bedroom with its own sitting area and a magnificent sea view as well as its own bathroom. All the beds are very comfortable and furnished with tasteful and cool bed linen with plenty of towels for the guests.

The pool is 9m x 3m and is fenced off for safety. Around the pool is a sun trap area covered in smart decking with relaxing chairs and additional sun-loungers. There is a great sense of privacy and relaxation in the garden which is filled with Mediterranean plants – olives, palm trees, oleanders and pots with herbs and plants. It is a great house for a large family or two families or a group of friends.

RATES & AVAILABILITY

All rates are per week for the whole villa. All bookings are taken Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday and are in euros. There are no extras. 500 euro refundable damage deposit payable on arival. Tourist tax and daily cleaning are included.
