Mirca travel guide

Charming old village on the hillside with more modern villas by the sea; harbour, beach and waterfront restaurant.
Mirca on the north side of Brac island is "the village of walls" which were built to protect it in ancient times. It is also a village in two parts: the old village of stone cottages and the more recent village with great villas and holiday homes along the beach. It is a quieter neighbour of a larger town called Supetar, which has supermarkets, numerous restaurants, bars and cafes and is only 3 km away (2 miles). In Mirca you will find lovely sandy and pebbly beaches which are great for family swimming and often have a small beach cafe or a restaurant nearby. The relaxing, low key island life gets only marginally busier in the summer, the emphasis still on resting, cycling, walking along the sea shore, amongst olives, vineyards and pine woods all the way to Supetar (20 min).
As an olive growing village, it also has an interesting Olive Museum. In charming old streets there are summer events and art exhibitions. In the small village harbour a place can be found for a small yacht, booking in advance is not possible. For nightlife, children's aqua park and activities go to Supetar.

Getting there. Easy to get to, catch a frequent ferry from Split to Supetar, enjoy the scenic 55 min ride, and take a taxi to Mirca (10 min). Or take your own hire car on the car ferry. We can organise private boat transfers and boat trips.
