This eco-friendly solar powered villa overlooks a sheltered and peaceful bay near the town of Milna on the Island of Brac. The villa is light, bright, airy and spacious. The property is designed for outdoor living with terraces flowing out to the pool and BBQ areas. The walled garden is enclosed and is planted with aromatic Mediterranean flora such as jasmine, lavender and rosemary. The garden features many secluded areas to relax. The villa is set only about 50 metres back from the shoreline and has access to a private bathing platform right by the sea.

The villa has been beautifully furnished and provides accommodation for up to 10 people, with 4 large double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area plus scope for 2 more persons in the garden cottage which has a further double bed.

Villa Hybiscus is located in a quiet bay 3 kilometres from the attractive harbour town of Milna on the Dalmatian island of Brac, a beautiful unspoilt island close to the mainland and the fascinating city of Split. Milna offers a range of restaurants, cafes and bars, a local farmers market, shops and a supermarket The island’s coastline is studded with villages built from the local white stone (a wing of the White House in Washington is built from the same stone). Inland, there are some charming old villages nestling between olive groves and vineyards. Sandy and pebbly beaches are everywhere and the spectacular beach in the little town of Bol is deemed to be one of the most beautiful in the world.

The island of Brac is easily accessible by ferry from Split, which goes round the clock during the summer season, and several times a day during the rest of the year. Low cost airlines (Easyjet, German Wings, Scanjet and Flybe), British Airways and Croatia Airlines fly directly to Split. Split itself is full of antiquities, markets, galleries, restaurants, clubs and is famous for the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. It is well worth a visit. Superb local fresh fish and locally produced meat and wine are memorable and watersports are available. The climate is mild all year round, with over 300 days of sunshine. The sea is warm, clear and unpolluted, and everyone swims in it. This is an ideal holiday destinations for families, teenagers and adults.

Spacious open plan living area with kitchen, lounge area and dining table.

The comfortable lounge area is equipped with a wide screen TV and DVD and has an open fireplace for winter warmth and atmosphere. Large glass doors lead out onto spacious terraces and the pool area which blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with sea view and a bathroom with shower and WC.

The upper floor offers three double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one bathroom with shower and toilet and one en suite with shower, bath and toilet). All rooms and the gallery have access to balconies with spectacular sea views and/or garden views.

Stone and marble floors, high ceilings, comfortable furniture and tasteful art paintings complete this home.

In the grounds of the villa is a small cottage which provided accomodation for two people.

Outside

Ample terrace space with outdoor furniture, sun loungers and sun umbrellas and a BBQ area. The swimming pool is 6 metres x 4 metres. Kayaks are provided free of charge to enable you to explore the bay and visit local beaches. The garden is 600 square metres and fully walled. There is parking space for two cars. It is a short walk to the beach and bathing platform.

Carbon footprint

The Villa is one in a solar powered community in Duboka Bay designed to preserve the environment. The villa has a small environmental footprint with solar power and generator back up. The generator has to be used for large appliances such as the oven and dishwasher. The villa is not airconditioned electric fans are provided

PRICE & AVAILABILITY

All rates are for the whole villa per week Sunday to Sunday and are in euros. A 300 euro damage deposit is payable to the owner on arrival and refunded on departure. A final cleaning fee of 150 euros and tourist tax of approximately one euro per person per day are extra and payable in cash on arival
