Villa Romola is an exquisitively built villa according to its owners’ exacting specifications. It is a new stone built villa, using the Istrian building materials typical of old Istrian farmhouses and located in a small hamlet a few kilometres out of Visnjan and around and around 15 kilometers from the coastal town of Porec. The striking and unique property of this villa is its indoor grandeur and spaciousness. The beauty and proportions of this vacation home suggests the old Roman nobleman’s country estate, such as there were many in Istria 2000 years ago. The house is finished to perfection inside and outside, and has all the modern facilities for a fabulous holiday. A well stocked wine cellar is open to the guests ( wine charged extra), and a gym and sauna are not just good to use, but fabulously designed. The villa is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and oak woods. It is 15 minutes drive from the sea and lively coastal towns, but provides tranquillity and relaxation for the guests. It is a wonderful place all year round, as it has underfloor heating. You will be in heaven if you visit in October and November for truffle festivals, wild mushroom dishes, wine making and olive picking. Or in the spring for wild asparagus picking. You are in the heart of the gourmet region of Croatia!

ACCOMMODATION
Ground floor
The wow factor of this villa is its double height sitting room tiled with top quality terracotta floor tiles. The walls are made of beautifully shaped stones or rendered and painted in subtle wash of Mediterranean colours. The sitting room is furnished with tasteful sofas. An open fireplace of large stone slabs and thick oak wood is the best example of what was usually found in Istrian old homes. This room provides the satellite TV/DVD player and a Bose sound system. The kitchen continues the terracotta and white scheme, with a charming herring bone pattern of terracotta bricks on the floor. It is fully equipped with Miele electrical goods, a fridge, several freezers, double oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle andtoaster. Numerous kitchen units, dressers and kitchen cupboards in white classic style provide masses of storage. A large French door opens out onto a covered outdoor dining terrace. On the ground floor there is also a double bedroom with en-suite bath with rain shower and a television.
A ground floor utility room contains a sink, a washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board and a steam iron.

First floor
On the first floor are two large en-suite bedrooms Each bedroom is accessed by its own staircase from the ground floor and is completely private. The master bedroom has a king size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, a satellite TV and an exit to a terrace with great views of the vineyards. The second bedroom has a double bed, TV, and its own balcony with lovely sea views.

All rates are per week for the whole villa. All bookings are taken Saturday to Saturday and are in euros. There are no extras. A refundable damage deposit may be required. Tourist tax is included. Daily maid service available for an additional charge
