“ Lovely villa in an isolated village. Beautiful views, great pool area/BBQ, very helpful owner. Small beach 10-15 minutes walk away, and Ston a 10 minute drive for shopping, eating and the walls. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and air con which helps a lot when it's 40C. I'd love to go back!
”
About location:
“ Beautiful countryside surrounds the villa, so it's a great place to get away from the crowds and noise. Ston is a close drive for shopping and restaurants, and it's easy to get a bus from Ston to Dubrovnik. Further up the Peljesac peninsula are beautiful beaches, mountains and islands. A trip to Mjlet island is a must (get the ferry from Prapatno, or a private boat from Zuljana), and also a look around the Elefiti Islands. The local wines and olive oils need a try too- lots of places to taste and buy.

Villa Salvia was perfect for us ...
“ I (rather belatedly for which I apologise) wanted to tell you how much we loved our week in Croatia.
Villa Salvia was perfect for us - all I'd hoped and more! We loved the setting of the house: such a peaceful hamlet, in lovely country and far from the bustle of more touristy places. We really enjoyed using all the outdoor spaces. Plenty of room to get away from each other! The house was well equipped and comfortable.
”
About location:
“ It was such fun exploring the local area and doing trips to Dubrovnik and Korcula. We had several delicious meals in various restaurants but also enjoyed cooking at the house.
”
About Croatian Villa Holidays:
“ Thank you so much for being so brilliant when I was struggling with contacting the owner. I think the fault lay with my phone as my daughter had no problem once she tried. I'm so sorry about that.
The person who met us at the house was delightful and very helpful. My only comment would be that in the dark we did find it a bit of a challenge to find the house. The directions were perfect for daylight arrival but as our planes were delayed we were driving at night. My husband says that it would have been helpful to have had distances along the lanes just to confirm we were taking the right turns as we couldn't really see the landmarks, including the critical oyster bar on the main road.
I do hope we might return to Croatia one day.

Comfortable villa, lovely small pool...
“ Comfortable villa, lovely small pool and good outside space. Many areas to sit or eat in the shade with table football, table tennis, disco!- all there. The owner is very nice, he met us in Dubrovnik to hand over keys and give directions, and he always answered questions
quickly. Air-con throughout was just powerful enough to keep villa comfortable. Ston/Mali Ston only a 10 minute drive for supermarkets/restaurants etc. An information pack would have been useful, with beach/day trip/shopping/restaurant suggestions. Also with doctor/emergency phone numbers etc - just for peace of mind. We did most of our exploring with guide books which isn't the same as local knowledge. Also the owner's contact details beforehand, he would have bought us first night food/drink if he'd been asked. Arriving after 9pm all shops will be closed. ”
About location:
“ Restaurants good in Mali Ston, beaches very crowded because they are small. Dubrovnik overrun by tourists and very expensive. Worth driving further up peninsula for better beaches and pretty towns. ”

Response from Croatian Villa Holidays:
Adam, thanks for the positive response. We have passed your comments in regards to an info-pack on to the owner. In general we are sending direction approx 10 weeks before the start of your holiday. These include the telephone number of the local contact/owner. Our apologies should this email not have reached you.

A perfect holiday destination
“ Villa Salvia was a perfect holiday destination for us; a group of three middle aged couples who were not looking for tourist crowds of busy nightlife. Car is essential to reach the isolated location. Villa is located in a very small rural village (six or seven houses), supermarkets and restaurants are at least 5km away. This was perfect for us; the villa provided us the privacy we wanted, away from noise and crowds. The (small) new pool, the patio with sun beds, BBQ, outdoor seating areas, three refrigerators (one of them by the pool/BBQ), herbs growing in the garden, a separate toilet and outdoor shower by the pool, shades, washing machine, dishwasher-all these things made our one week holiday in Croatia perfect. ”
About location:
“ Detailed instructions to find the restaurants and the rumoured quiet beach mentioned in the description, would have helped! We did find a steep hidden path to rough rocky stand to jump to the sea, but it was definately not a beach. Perhaps even a folder giving all the information about the villa as well as the neighbourhood/surroundings would be a good idea. Still, a very relaxing and functional place if you value privacy with no noise.” ”

Response from Croatian Villa Holidays:
We will aim to improve the directions to the villa and information about finding the beaches. Its a shame you did not find the quiet beach because it is delightful.
“ The house was magnificent, the pool was amazing. Location was also perfect - very close to Ston and Mali Ston - lots of great restaurants (esp Stagnum in Ston which was our favourite). Highly recommend, will be returning. ”

Lovely villa which has everything you need and more.
“ Lovely villa which has everything you need and more. Absolutely every cooking utensil you could think of in the kitchen, as well as in the wonderful outdoor state of the art BBQ (the advert should really mention this more I think). The outdoor fridge, outdoor toilet, tennis table table and eating area really made the outside - and of course the lovely pool with the adjacent table recliners in the shade.
The bedrooms had all that you needed, including air-con (although sometimes it seemed to go in the middle of the night for some reason but it didn't actually matter, even though it was 30 degrees). The generous owner even provided washing tablets for the washing machine and dish washer, bin bags, washing up liquid and cloth, kitchen roll and lots of toilet roll etc - these things don't cost that much extra but really make all the difference when you are flying in and don't have to panic about buying them on your first day. It makes you feel like you are really welcome and that corners aren't being cut. I could go on - suffice to say we loved it! ”
About location:
“ Mali Ston was the most marvellous location. Beautiful bay at Mali Ston with Oyster Farm trip (wonderful), sea kayaking, sea food restaurants and of course the walled town and walls leading over the hill to Ston. Handy local shops for everything you need in Ston. And the Salt pans to visit too there. Wonderful swimming and snokelling in local bays. Only an hour to Dubrovnik. In the wine region. I can't think of a better location - we were delighted. ”

The whole holiday and experience was fab
“ I just wanted to thank everyone who helped along the way to book Apartment Iris and Villa Salvia, along with our airport transfer and car hire. The whole holiday and experience was fab and and the planning was effortless. Well almost effortless as we had to make decisions as to which villa to choose! We returned to the uk yesterday and we are wishing we were still in Croatia. Thanks again ”

“ The house and setting are charming, with everything we needed for a peaceful retreat. Outside, the pool is poised over the village giving charming rural views. The pressure jet means that some 'against the current' exercise can be taken, while the angled steps enable you to sit in the cool water and just read a book. One of the highlights of the property are that it has a series of outdoor courtyards and areas so you can choose sun or shade, depending on the time of day. There is a table tennis table for the cooler hours and shady nooks where you can sit at a table with a glass of wine and a backgammon board. At night the pool terrace is ideal for stargazing or watching the moon rise over the mountainside. The interior is comfortable, with effective air conditioning and good-sized bedrooms for a holiday property. Shuttered windows give the option of keeping the rooms cool in the heat of the day, or enjoying the views from all sides.
This is a rural property and guests should be prepared for a short drive to Ston to collect shopping or dine out in the good selection of local restaurants. Exploring the local wineries is also highly recommended.

“ The villa is in a great spot to hit Dubrovnik, Korcula and Mostar. We enjoyed the restaurants in Ston and the beach at Prapratno.
The villa will be a little remote for some in a tiny hamlet where only an old couple seem to actually live !
The owner has done a great job restoring the villa and the outside space is lovely. Enjoyed the pool, bbq area, outdoor fridge and shower !

We had a fabulous stay at Villa Salvia
“ The location is remote but quiet and very authentic. A 15 minute walk takes you to a completely empty beach shared only by boat users and two houses, the water is crystal clear and great for snorkelling - but watch out for the sea urchins!
The property is well equipped and it is clearly the owner's family home with memories all around you. He was a charming host and took real care of us especially when fire storms broke out and came within 10 km of the area. Ston and Mali Ston are perfectly decent places to get all your daily amenities from and Mali Ston has a couple of excellent harbour side restaurants.
All in all a fantastic holiday.

We had probably our best holiday in Europe.
“ The villa was great - we wanted for nothing more. The location was very peaceful, yet close to a great beach, historic towns, superb restaurants (and amazingly cheap too), and only an hour's drive from Dubrovnik. The owner was a great host, and his neighbours were very friendly (although many lost-in-translation moments as you can imagine!).
In all, wishing we had booked 2 weeks instead of just 1. ”

“ Very comfortable cottage, well equipped and in a lovely quiet location with beautiful views. People in village very friendly and well located for Ston and Mali Ston which were interesting places to visit with well equipped supermarkets and variety of restaurants. Dubrovnik about 45 minutes away. Very convenient for ferries to the beautiful island of Mljet. ”
