This is a typical Dalmatian country villa built from white stone and with a red tiled roof, white shutters and spacious outdoor terraces for the enjoyment of sunny days and views of the sea. A sandy beach is just in front of the house. A couple of steps from the village road lead to a wrought iron gate, into the front garden planted with palm trees and Mediterranean flowers. The villa is spacious and very comfortable, with white floor tiles and white walls throughout, in contrast to the bright blue sea which is visible from the inside of the house. It is comfortably furnished, close to the shops, restaurants, and the beach, with its own pool, a prefect summer holiday home.

Accommodation

The villa comprises 250 square metres of indoor space and has three separate apartments. Two of them have separate external entrances and one of them stretches over two floors.

Ground floor

The Ground floor comprises two kitchens, two dining rooms, two sitting rooms, a double bedroom, one shower room and one bathroom with a bath tub. The open plan living space is entered through a double door from the garden terrace. The cool white colour of the rooms is softened with honey coloured wood kitchen and dining room table, and brightened by red curtains and stripy cushions of a large sofa and chairs. This area contains a satellite TV/DVD player. The quality kitchen is made of wood and provided with all modern utensils - dishwasher, cooker, fridge freezer, microwave oven, coffee machine, toaster and a kettle. The kitchen is equipped with all cooking utensils and glassware, plates and cutlery. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and a white modern bathroom with a bath tub and a washing machine. There is also a hydro-massage shower room. The bedroom's large double doors have perfect sea views and open out directly onto the terrace. The main section of the villa extends into a substantial extra wing, with its own kitchen/diner and a sitting area plus a separate terrace on the ground floor. Through the open door you again get wonderful views of the garden and the sea, and inside, a cream sofa and dark dining table are arranged next to a line of white kitchen units, four ring hob and oven, sink, and a small fridge/freezer.

First floor

From the downstairs hallway a wooden staircase leads to the upper floor where there are five double bedrooms, each with a double bed, 4 shower rooms and a kitchen/living area. All the bedrooms have a door to a terrace which faces the sea. The bedrooms have wood parquet flooring and each has a simple colour scheme such as cream and blue, honey coloured, red and white or blue stripes. The shower rooms are white and cream, with white tiles and smart bathroom furniture. There are three air-conditioning units, which together with the thick walls of the house keep the rooms cool. Plenty of bath towels and all bed linen are provided. Guests should bring their own beach towels as these are not provided.

Outside

The villa is surrounded by a lovely garden, a shaded terrace and a pool with sea views. The garden is planted with palm trees, purple bougainvilleas, geraniums, bay trees, sea grasses and many other Mediterranean plants. The 24 square metre swimming pool (1.5m deep) faces the sea and is surrounded by a sunbathing terraces with six sun loungers and chairs, mosaic table and chairs and fabulous views of the sea from all corners. There is also a whirlpool hot tub outside. Terraces add greatly to this attractive garden. On the ground floor there is a covered terrace with a stone dining table and a wooden table with benches. On the first floor there is a pretty balcony with stone balustrade along the whole length of the house, superb sea views, and a full set of garden furniture in front of the bedrooms. The villa has parking spaces for 3 cars. There are a number of restaurants and coffee shops all in walking distance from the villa.

Villa was excellent ...
Villa was excellent, great for mixed groups or large families as it was split into separate areas with own balconies and spectacular views. Close to restaurants, bars, beaches as described. Supermarket just down the road. Well equipped villa, can't fault it. Lovely, friendly owner, as were the local Croatian people. Really enjoyed our holiday.

About location:

Enjoyed being able to walk everywhere, loved water taxi to Korcula town.

We had fabulous time. Your Croatian manager Daniela was great, meeting us and checking how we're doing.
Villa location is also great, beautiful views and close to the beaches and restaurants. Lumbarda is a very quiet place, with limited options, but there is one amazing restaurant we found - Konoba Fjaka, with fantastic local food and great service. Highly recommended.. There is only one thing I need to mention and that is a lack of air conditioning on the upper floor of the older part of the villa. These 3 bedrooms were hot at night. With aircon downstairs in the living room and also in the newer part of the villa both downstairs and upstairs it is a shame that the bedrooms in the older part were not included. then you should have put it also there. It was 40degC outdoor most of the week. That aircon would have made it perfect!
Overall we really enjoyed the villa, both adults and kids!

Korcula Town
Korcula Town, considered to be the birth place of Marco Polo, is a beautifully preserved mediaeval town dating from the 13th Century. The town is fortified and positioned on a small elevated peninsula providing a commanding position over the strait between the island and the mainland. Today Korcula's narrow alleyways and town squares provide the setting for bars, restaurants, shops and galleries. There are many excellent restaurants and classy boutique hotels and a cocktail bar in one of the circular towers that form a part of the ancient fortifications. One of the most picturesque and important historic town in Croatia. Well worth a day trip.
Lumbarda
is a small, picturesque fishing village of about 1000 inhabitants, located on the eastern Korcula a short distance from Korcula town. Lumbarda, a village of pretty cottages and villas, sandy beaches, vineyards and olive groves, a sheltered harbour and small marina, restaurants, shops and cafes. Just out of town but still within walking distance is Plaza Prizina (Prizina beach) a gorgeous sandy beach in a wide bay. There are beach bars and a bistro on the beach. With an abundance of sandy beaches Lumbarda is a great location for families with young children. Lumbarda is a very relaxing and peaceful place, but there are plenty of shops, coffee bars and 14 restaurants, something for everyone's taste. Fishing is famous, and fresh fish and shellfish first class, prepared simply, the local way. The notable and strictly locally made white wine is called Grk and it is very delicious.

Buses and ferries: Buses from Lumbarda to the town of Korcula go regularly. From the mainland town of Orebic it is just a 15 minute ferry ride to the harbour right below the walls of Korcula town. The car ferry docks further up the coats between Korcula and Lumbarda. A day trip to the fabulous Dubrovnik is possible. A two hour drive once you are on the mainland. Or spend a relaxing day visiting the fantastic wineries and beaches on the mainland Peljesac peninsula.

Island of Korcula

The quickest route to Korcula is to fly to Split and from Split ferry port cross to Vela Luka, the town on the west end of the island of Korcula. Travellers should however note that there is generally only two or three crossings per day to Vela Luka and the timing may not fit with arrival times of flights. There is a car ferry and a faster passenger ferry. Timetables and prices for ferries from Split to Vela Luka can be found on the Jadrolinija website or on the Korcula Info website.

If the Vela Luka crossing does not work, travellers should consider flying to Dubrovnik Airport and driving to Orebic on the Peljesac peninsula and from there taking the short car ferry crossing (20 minutes) to the town of Korcula. We can quote for car hie from Split or Dubrovnik Airport and from local providers in Vela Luka on Korcula.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
