Villa Vita is situated in Hvar town on the Island of Hvar, the sunniest place in Croatia! Hvar is one of the most beautiful towns in the world, where you get magnificent beaches, high culture, gourmet food, historical buildings and memorable experiences.

Hvar is restful and historic, but there is a real buzz in town. Superb restaurants and cafes are many, and loads of cultural and sporting recreation is on offer. Walk along cobbled streets with Venetian looking palazzos,  pop into smart nightclubs (Carpe Diem, Laganini) and beach bars. It is popular with the sailing community, young adults and family groups, not to mention European royalty and Hollywood celebrities- Beyonce and the Beckhams are fans.

Hvar Villa Vita is one of four Mediterranean villas on neighbouring plots, each one in its own garden and with its own pool, very close to a pretty beach. A seaside walkway can take you to the centre of Hvar town in 10-15 minutes.

A fantastic experience is the nearby Palmizana on Pakleni islands. Swim there in warm, clear sea in cosy coves or on wild beaches. Visit the amazing Meneghello restaurant in its tropical gardens.  Active types will enjoy water sports - sailing, water skiing, scuba-diving, fishing, hiking, biking, caving and gliding. Also take a boat excursion to the nearby islands of Vis and Brac, see the blue cave of Bisevo and the Golden Horn beach in Bol - the windsurfing paradise. It is easy to visit Split and Trogir, even Dubrovnik.

Villa Vita is a four bedroom, (semi-detached) villa with three bathrooms, sleeping eight people. It is attached to Villa Mia. The villa comprises two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. The villa has WiFi, air conditioning, satellite TV and a DVD player. It is just a couple of minutes' walk to a pretty, pebbly beach. Go in your swimming costume!

Ground floor
The ground floor is a spacious, cool, open plan space with a modern kitchen, bathroom, a large living room and dining area. There is plenty of room for sitting and dining for eight persons. Satellite TV/DVD and a music centre is available in the living room, from where large French doors lead out onto the patio, lawn and the pool surrounded by deck chairs and sun loungers.

The kitchen provides all cooking utensils, tableware, electrical goods such as dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and a coffee machine.

First floor
All bedrooms are on the first floor, some with balconies. Most bedrooms have sea views. Ensuite and separate bathrooms are modern and tastefully tiled, with good lighting, mirrors and plenty of bath towels. Villa Vita has two twin bedded rooms and two double bedrooms. Good quality bed linen is used throughout.

The enclosed garden of the villa is provided with everything to enjoy the outdoor living. A 24 square metre pool, a barbecue and the outdoor dining area, sun loungers and a sun umbrella. You can walk to the beach in your swimming costume!

Hvar is one of the most beautiful and most fashionable towns in Croatia. It is small and relaxing, but it is full of great Italianate medieval architecture, 700 years old city walls, dominated by what is arguably the most beautiful ancient town square in Croatia. Paved with ancient stone slabs the square is and surrounded by renaissance palaces from the 15th and 16th century. Amongst the most beautiful of these is the old 17th century theatre and a Venetian loggia. Narrow streets with old houses and villas radiate away from the town square, and several grand hotels from the bygone age are facing the square. Lively restaurants and bars are another attraction for tourists and many grand yachts jostle for a position in the little harbour lined with palm trees. On top of the hill is an old fortress from which there is a spectacular view of the sea and islands. Walking along the harbour front to the town square to relax in the cafes, bars and restaurants, enjoying a cappuccino, an ice-cream, a cool beer or a lunch of grilled fresh fish and marvellous olive oils and local wines, whilst the world lazily passes by. These are the simple pleasures of holidaying in Hvar.

Hvar is unique in that it both relaxing and restful, whilst at the same time having a lively atmosphere. There is history, architecture, superb dining, walks along narrow cobbled streets, all kinds of sports, as well as smart nightclubs, beaches and swimming. It is popular with the sailing community, young adults and family groups, not to mention European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. There is really something for everyone. Many good restaurants and bars are dotted all around the town of Hvar, serving either simple fresh seafood and pasta, or providing a full-on gastronomic experience, such as Macondo restaurant in one of the small Hvar side streets. Seasoned party goers recommend the Carpe Diem nightclub in the harbour, which is furnished with exotic Arabian furniture and dècor and provides cocktails and champagne until small hours of the morning.

More superb restaurants are located on the nearby Pakleni islands, which can be reached reach by taxi boats running from the town quay. Our favourites are Patak (also known as Kod Patka) and Meneghello, the latter in a lush tropical garden and decorated with exotic art work; they are both restaurants which provide great cooking and a magical location.

There are swimming areas and small beaches as you walk along the coast path around the town. Some of the most beautiful beaches are to be found on the Pakleni islands such as Palmizana and Stipanska beaches, reached by taxi boat from Hvar town.

Other towns on the island
Stari Grad, Jelsa and Vrbovska, on the north side of the island are all delightful harbour towns with the typical stone houses, busy harbours tight with local fishing boats and visiting yachts. Waterside restaurants and cafes surround the harbours and nearby beaches provide excellent swimming. Inland, smaller villages such as Dol, Zavala and many others are also worth a visit.

Hvar is reached by regular car ferry service from Split to Stari Grad and from to Drvenik to Sucuraj at the eastern end of the island. Catamaran passenger ferries operate to Hvar Town and Jelsa.

Island of Hvar

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and connect by ferry from Split ferry port to either Stari Grad (car ferry) or Hvar town (passenger ferry). Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Another option is to fly to Dubrovnik. The road journey from Dubrovnik Airport to Split ferry port is four hours with a scenic motorway much of the way. If you want to spend a day or two in Dubrovnik this can work fine. There is a ferry crossing from the coast road at Drvenik to Sucuraj at the east end of Hvar island. However we would warn travellers that the 75km road up the island to Hvar town is very narrow and bendy; a difficult and slow route.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
