A newly restored 300 year old stone cottage just outside a small and beautiful town of Nin, 20km from Zadar. The area is famous for its long sandy beaches, among the most beautiful in Croatia. The town is an ancient seat of the Croatian kings a thousand years ago, and now it is a pleasant and peaceful place for summer holidays, famous for windsurfing and waterposrts. The new villa is located four kilometres from Nin, just over half a mile from a gorgeous sandy beach, and 20km from the regional largest town of Zadar, well worth visiting in its own right.

There are so many beaches in the area, some are wild and peaceful, and some are well set up for children's entertainment with water slides, pools and beachside cafes. The village has several restaurants and cafes, a market, grocery store and plenty of opportunity for water sports nearby. In addition, you can easily visit three major national parks, which are Krka river waterfalls, Kornati islands and Paklenica, all places of extraordinary natural beauty. The area is also ideal for walkers and cyclists. The villa is a stone cottage recently renovated.

Landmark castle
The small town of Vir is located on a small island of Vir which is linked to the nainland by a bridge at Privlaka, in the Zadar region of the Adriatic coast of Croatia. It is 26km north of Zadar. It comprises small holiday villas and several pebbly beaches, with very clear sea, great for swimming. Life on Vir is very slow and relaxing. There are several grocery shops, a market and some excellent restaurants, beach bars, cafes. Fish, sea food and home grown lamb are excellent. Traditionally it is a wine growing, farming and fishing area, and tourism has developed over the past 50 years. You can enjoy this sunny and tranquil beach heaven and take walks through olive grows, pine woods, picking figs growing wild along the way.The old part of the village is very beautiful, and has several churches from 12th and 13th century. Although small in size, Vir island boasts numerous sights. The most famous is certainly the Kastelina, a sixteenth-century fort built by Venetians as defence against Turks and local pirates. Visit the beach in Sapavac cove, near the Kastelina fort, where you can roll about in therapeutic mud, rinse in the sea and sleep the afternoon away under the shady pines. This is a great place for a family holiday, as close to the town there are numerous coves and beaches. A little further away, there is arguably the most beautiful beach, Duboka Draga (Deep Cove) in the northwest of the island. This beach is lined by spectacular red rocks, which are an amazing sight against the crystal-clear sea.The island and town of Vir is connected with the mainland by a small bridge, so it is very convenient for exploring further afield. Easily reached is the nearby old town of Nin, which has the world's smallest cathedral The Holy Cross Cathedral. Visit the beautiful main regional town of Zadar, or Krka waterfalls National park near Sibenik. Also the amazing Plitvice Lakes and Paklenica National park are within a scope of a day's trip.
