Veli Losinj - which means "Large Losinj" is in fact much smaller than Mali ("Small") Losinj just a few kilometres away. One of the prettiest harbours in the Adriatic with stylish Belle Époque architecture (this was a favourite destination of Austo-Hungarian royalty) and colourful rendered buildings enclosing the a narrow harbour packed with fishing boats and visiting yachts. There are beaches close to the town and within 15-30 minutes walk any number of delightful coves and bays ideal for wild swimming.
