Rustic stunning stone villa near the beach. The view from your bedroom is unforgettable, the food in the restaurant sublime, beaches and natural beauty are stunning, all you could ever ask for! Top destination for foodies and those that want to visit Dubrovnik, Cavtat and Mostar, Mljet national park or take a fabulous boat trip for the Elafiti Islands. OVERVIEW

Villa Katarina is situated within the ancient walls of Mali Ston. Unusually for a town house of this type, it is detached and stands within its own plot with a small terrace/garden area around it. Mali Ston is a picturesque fortified medieval town just 40 minutes drive from Dubrovnik and less than an hour from Dubrovnik airport. Villa Katarina is a listed building that has been sensitively renovated. It is now a luxury house that retains its original character. The area of Mali Ston within the town walls is arranged on terraces with pedestrian passageways between them.

Villa Katarina has extensive panoramic views over the harbour and bay from the front windows and from the back looks out towards the five-towered castle that stands above the town. The villa is a two minute walk to the sea and the water front restaurants around the harbour. The villa sleeps up to four people in two spacious double bedrooms. The villa is fully air-conditioned and has heating for the winter months.

Reviews

A real gem

Villa Katarina is a real gem, our family of two adults and two children spent a lovely week there in August 22 and enjoyed Mali Ston and Ston area very much. It is a great place to unwind and much more easy going than Dubrovnik which is easy to visit. There are several small beaches, three restaurants and two cafes in the village, extremely good. Also in Ston many more restaurants and supermarkets, bakery, butchers, chemist, bank and a fresh market, a lovely little museum and a children's playground. The villa is an exquisite example of an old stone cottage all modernised inside and with unforgettable sea views. The kitchen is amazing and there is aircon in all rooms, and two beautiful bathrooms! We felt pampered. You can park 80 meters from the villa.

The location is excellent with beautiful views over the bay, and only a couple of minutes walk to the restaurants. It has air conditioning in every room which made it very comfortable when it got hot. Good internet connection as well. The host was easy to contact and gave helpful friendly advice.

The Villa was ideal for us, but do need to be reasonably mobile as Villa is on three floors and although just a couple of minutes from the parking area the paths are a climb and a bit rough for the wheels of suitcases. But all well worth the effort.

Mali Ston

Dubrovnik Airport is 1 hour drive from Mali Ston. An alternative is to fly to Split Airport and drive the 3 hours down the spectacular coast road, or the slightly quicker route down the inland motorway, from Split to Mali Ston. For travellers with some time to spare, the Split option provides the chance to visit Diocletian’s Palace in the centre of Split or take a full day detour on the southerly route by crossing by ferry to Supetar on the island of Brac and returning from Sumartin at the southern end of the island to Makarska on the mainland.

Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport is located near the town of Cavtat 19km to the south of Dubrovnik. There are direct flights to Dubrovnik from most European countries and from Philadelphia in the USA.

There are bus and taxi services into Dubrovnik centre. A taxi transfer can be expected to cost around 35 to 40 euro one way depending on the time of day and the season and a minibus around 50-60 euros.   A shuttle bus service from the airport to Dubrovnik is 7.5 euro per person each way.

Croatian Villa Holidays can arrange taxi transfers directly to your villa.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 25 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split although you should allow longer in mid summer.
