Villa Mimosa is an elegant stone built house located in the picturesque community of Mali Ston, a fortified medieval town just 40 minutes drive from Dubrovnik and less than an hour from Dubrovnik airport. With the help of local architects and craftsmen this exclusive villa has been tastefully renovated to create luxury accommodation for six to eight people. The villa stands in a beautifully landscaped garden of 800 square metres. The garden rises in terraces offering a variety of secluded areas for relaxing and sun bathing, and incorporates a swimming pool, 9 metres x 4.5 metres, sun bathing terraces, a shady terrace under a pergola and a barbecue area.

The villa is situated about 100 metres from the water's edge in an elevated position with views to the sea and across the town and the castle walls. Within only a few minutes walk of local restaurants the villa is in a secluded and quiet location well away from the sound of traffic. The villa sleeps six in three rooms (two double one twin) with the possibility of sleeping a seventh person on a fold out bed in the main bedroom or two extras on a bed-settee in the lounge. Interior furnishings are to the highest standard. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven.

...we loved the villa and our week there.
I just wanted to mention how much we loved the villa and our week there.

About location:

I wanted to thank you for the wild swimming recommendation... that was probably the highlight of our time in Croatia... such an amazing experience in such remote places.

The villa was very clean with all equipment necessary for a self catering holiday. The variety of seating areas outside and the lovely
gardens were much appreciated. The pool was very clean and safe for children with having steps to access the pool.

About location:

We really enjoyed the location with very good restaurants in Mali Ston and others in Ston within walking distance. We visited some lovely sandy beaches on the peninsula and enjoyed walking on the walls and local footpaths.

A stunning villa in an equally wonderful location
Villa Mimosa is a stunning villa in an equally wonderful location, the beautiful, unspoilt seaside village of Mali Ston. It has been refurbished with great care, providing modern comfort and plenty of space while protecting its magical atmosphere.

Its outside areas are gems. The shaded terrace is a lovely spot in which to have meals or to sit, talk, read and relax. Its position is superb with great views of the surrounding landscape. You get a real sense of local atmosphere as the villa & its garden nestle on the outskirts of the village while also being totally private and blissfully quiet. The pool area was equally enjoyed by all the family, including children aged 3 to 8.

One of our happiest family holidays. I couldn't recommend Villa Mimosa enough.

About location:

There were lots of fun local trips - wineries, castle battlement walks, the historical salt pans, boating to local islands, great restaurants in the village and in nearby Ston, stunning coastline with both fun beaches and wild spots to swim from. Dubrovnik is a very easy day trip from this villa also.

The villa was beautiful and lived up to expectations.
The villa was beautiful and lived up to expectations. The setting is lovely as is the villa. The master bedroom has a great bed which I wanted to take home with me. We were a big family and a baby and we fitted in fine. We cooked in quite a bit and ate outside which was always delightful especially when we got our heads round the mosquitoes and how to get rid of them. We were in the pool daily but there are beautiful sandy beaches near by too. We had a fab holiday and really enjoyed getting to know Croatia. The house was air conditioned which made a huge difference at night. Thank you.

Maroushka was very lovely and helpful. The house was in beautiful condition when we arrived.

About location:

We took boat trips but not out of Mali Ston, the restaurants in Mali Ston were very good and Dubrovnic was beautiful.

A very comfortable house with a pool ...
A very comfortable house with a pool and various seating areas allowing for privacy if you want, in attractive surroundings, with one of the best restaurants in Croatia within about 200 yards and, for those who want to boat , the quay at Ston about a mile away. Wonderful.

Nice house with pretty gardens ...
Nice house with pretty gardens in quiet and peaceful Mali Ston. Our enjoyment of the pretty pool area and outside terrace was somewhat spoilt by the hungry mosquitos - we were bitten morning, afternoon and evening. Not sure if this is typical of this area of Croatia but we certainly didn't have problems elsewhere (we'd travelled from Zagreb down to Ston stopping off at the lakes, Zadar, Sibenik and Trogir on the way). Overall though we liked the house, and had an enjoyable stay.

About location:

Mali Ston is a great place to eat out if you like fish - but a bit of a challenge if not. Ston is only 15 mins walk away, or about an hour over the walls with the bonus of stunning views, and offered a slightly more varied eating experience. We loved Stagnum where the super friendly owner organised a lift home for us when we were caught in a thunderstorm. Top man.

Villa Mimosa is Delightful
Very well equipped and spacious it was a real home away from home. We were then in high summer but I'm sure the house would be equally suitable for an out-of-season break as the internal furnishings are much more comfortable than in many other villas. The pool area is lovely and catches the sun all day. The housekeeper is very friendly and helpful. Mali Ston is a quiet backwater, very picturesque, but in easy reach of Dubrovnik and other local sites. We had a great day's sailing (with a skipper) arranged via Croatian Villa Holidays and another day heading up the Orebic peninsula and over to Korcula. The walk over the walls to Ston is also well-worth the effort - we went early evening, when it was a little cooler, had a drink and a pizza in Ston, then walked back along the track that runs by the road back to Mali Ston. All in all, we would thoroughly recommend Villa Mimosa, and Croatian Villa Holidays.

We were absolutely impressed and delighted about the entire experience. One of the best holidays we have had. The villa was stunning , Maruska (the housekeeper) was was very helpful and kind. I have to thank Nigel for his advice about using the car we loved driving around, excellent small and quaint towns, and little restaurants were perfect.
Suggestions about the restaurants were perfect. Very much recommendable.

Beautiful villa, authentic, wonderful vista pool and surrounding gardens
The Villa Mimosa was a real gem. Nestled in a quiet spot, yet just yards from the enchanting fort and port of Mali Ston. The amenities were excellent, 3 bathrooms, excellently equipped kitchen and airy 3 bedrooms.I would certainly recommend this villa. It is built in the traditional Croatian style, yet has all mod cons. The pool is large and is surrounded by an enchanted garden.

Mali Ston castle and village
The picturesque town of Ston with its small sister town of Mali Ston are picturesque fortified medieval towns standing either end of the narrow isthmus that joins the Peljesac peninsula to the mainland. Rich in history they are places of culinary excellence and several renowned seafood restaurants are there. Prapratno Cove, close to Ston, provides one of the finest sandy beaches in Croatia. Dubrovnik is within 40 minutes drive down the spectacular coast road. The Dubrovnik Republic acquired control over Peljesac in 1333 and proceeded to construct massive fortifications in the form of a 5.5 kilometre wall spanning the isthmus and circling the towns of Ston and Mali Ston that stood on the coast at either end of the wall. The wall was built between 1336 and 1358 and is considered to be the longest defensive wall in Europe. Above Mali Ston and forming part of the town's fortification stands the impressive five-towered castle, Koruna. Mali Ston itself is laid out in terraces rising up the hillside and overlooking the sheltered harbour with its landmark circular Toljevac Tower built in 1478. Just across the isthmus lies Ston, laid out to a grid plan in the 14th century, the town is reminiscent of Dubrovnik and contains some fine public buildings dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. The ancient wall has been restored and is open to the public. The walk from Ston to Mali Ston provides wonderful views of the coastline and towns below. The salt pans at Ston, still operating today, are estimated to have generated two thirds of the Dubrovnik Republic's revenue in the 14th century. Nearby the small community of Broce, reached by a causeway running beside the Ston channel, was established in 1349 and has historic buildings and a delightful beach.

Eating out
Ston and Mali Ston are places of culinary excellence. There are renowned seafood restaurants, notably Bota Sare (occupying and old salt warehouse) and Kapetanova Kuca (Captain's House), on the seafront of Mali Ston. The town is famous for its oysters harvested from the local oyster beds. You can sample the excellent local white wine, Posip, and two great reds: Dingac and Postup.

Beaches
There are beaches at Mali Ston and Broce while Prapratno Cove, close to Ston, provides one of the finest sandy beaches in Croatia. The Peljesac peninsula contains some of the very best beaches that can be found on the Adriatic. A 30 minute drive up the peninsula will take you to the delightful village of Zuljana. The village houses front a small harbour and sandy beach which offers excellent swimming against a spectacular backdrop of woodland and mountains.

Mali Ston

Dubrovnik Airport is 1 hour drive from Mali Ston. An alternative is to fly to Split Airport and drive the 3 hours down the spectacular coast road, or the slightly quicker route down the inland motorway, from Split to Mali Ston. For travellers with some time to spare, the Split option provides the chance to visit Diocletian’s Palace in the centre of Split or take a full day detour on the southerly route by crossing by ferry to Supetar on the island of Brac and returning from Supetar at the southern end of the island to Makarska on the mainland.

Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport is located near the town of Cavtat to the south of Dubrovnik.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
