The Old Stone Villas were lovely

The Old Stone Villas were lovely. They were clean and well maintained and the layout of the apartments suited us very well.

The air conditioning was very efficient (which was good as it was 38 - 42 degrees whilst we were there). The beds were comfortable with good linen and the bath / shower rooms clean, well maintained and well equipped. The pools were good although one of the steps
had a sharp edge which caught a few of us out. There were enough loungers for us all and the orientation of the villas meant that
you could always find shade if you needed to.
The kitchens were basic but had everything needed for a self catering holiday including dishwashers. Some of the apartments do
not have freezers but as you have access to all of the apartments as part of the booking, this did not matter too much. It was good to have the washing machine in the utility room by the pool.
The stone bbqs worked well and there was plenty of wood supplied.
We travelled as a party of 16 with 5 young children and everyone had a fabulous time. Anna and Joseph (the owners of the villas)
were lovely and were very happy to replenish bbq wood, towels, etc. during the week. They were also very helpful on check out day.
We would be delighted to visit Old Stone Villa again.

About location:

The location of the villas was good. We were close enough to walk to the nearest beach and it was only a short drive to the
supermarket. There was plenty of parking space at the villas and although the neighbouring villas were quite close, we were not
We had a day trip on Anna and Joseph's boat which was very reasonably priced. They provided lots of local food and drink and took
us to a great spot for snorkeling and swimming from the boat.
Croatia is beautiful. The food, scenery, weather and people were amazing.

About Croatian Villa Holidays:

All my dealings on the telephone with Croatian Villa Holidays were excellent. The
phone was answered promptly, you could usually speak to someone at the weekend, and the staff were helpful. The staff I spoke to
had been to the villas and were very knowledgeable. I would certainly book with Croatian Villa Holidays again.

Judi, UK
Klek is a small Adriatic coastal town in southern Dalmatian situated on the coast road between Split and Dubrovnik. About 80 people live there and make their living in farming, fishing, olive growing and tourism. Klek is a collection of simple seaside cottages, apartments and villas, gathered around a semi-circular bay with a large pebble beach where you can hire deck chairs, parasols and pedal boats. It is a good spot for a relaxing but activity-filled family vacation, great for cycling, climbing, tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, hiking, diving, sailing and fantastic swimming. The whole area is full of lovely beaches. At your doorstep are sea front restaurants, coffee shops, pizzerias and bakeries which provide hot delicacies. A few miles north-west up the road there is a sharp contrast in the scenery as the coast road swoops down to the delta of the River Neretva. The rich soil of the estuary has made it the fruit-basket of the whole region, with its fertile groves of oranges and lemons and networks of lakes, rivers, and canals. In the spring and early summer you will find roads lined with cherry, peach and apricot sellers, and in the autumn there will be luscious plums, and later lemons, oranges, grapes and clementines. Huge beefy tomatoes and succulent peppers and cucumbers are the basis of many local salads. The sea is rich in fish and shellfish, and local oysters from nearby Mali Ston are legendary. A very popular outing is the Photo Safari trip in a glass bottom boat, through the rivulets of the River Neretva, between the citrus trees. For longer day trips, you are within an hour's drive of Dubrovnik to the south and to the north, Makarska, which has lovely beaches. The nearby towns of Metkovic and Opuzen are well worth visiting and are the main shopping centres in the region.
