Villa Estella is located on the Dalmatian coast approximately 70 kilometres (one hour) from Dubrovnik and 1 hour 20min by car from Dubrovnik airport. The villa is positioned 3km from the small town of Klek on high ground and has a stunning view of the Adriatic. It is reached by a small white road which goes through olive groves and vineyards.

Villa Estella is a very imposing stone-built new detached villa, in the style of old Dalmatian farmhouses of grand proportions. It is situated in several acres of land on a hillside overlooking a huge expanse of the Adriatic sea, with islands dotted below, and the famous island of Hvar in the distance. The gardens are extensive and well stocked with Mediterranean plants and trees. The grounds contain a hard surface tennis court for the exclusive use of guests.

Also available for guests' exclusive use is a traditional wine cellar at ground-floor level, where guests can help themselves to local dry cured ham and cheese and wines, at reasonable prices. On request a chef can be provided on a daily basis to prepare local dishes - fish and grilled meats are most popular. An extra charge will be made for this.

The views from the villa are spectacular...
The views from the villa are spectacular and the sunsets amazing, one benefit of having to drive 10 minutes up an unmade track! All outdoor facilities are excellent and we especially enjoyed the pool and tennis court as well as the 'astro' area and the outdoor kitchen.
The villa itself is comfortable though very dark inside (lighting in bedrooms especially dim) and the shower arrangements are not really
good enough for a villa where everything else is of a high calibre. We showered outside by the pool as the shower there was excellent.
The owners were extremely attentive and helpful and went to a great deal of trouble to help us organise things such as a boat trip and
restaurant bookings. We really appreciated the plate of cold meats and cheese, watermelon and Granny's cake as well as wine that was
left for us when we arrived.

About location:

The villa seemed to be in a very untouristy area which was both good and bad. We enjoyed a trip to Mali Ston/Ston and an excellent dinner there at Kapetanova Kuca. We ate at a new restaurant in Kormarna (Storija) which had great food and we hope they will do really well as the location was good for the villa.

The villa's outstanding feature was its outdoor kitchen.
The villa's outstanding feature was its outdoor kitchen. We lived in it for the whole week. It was well equipped and made a very social hub. The villa is not really suitable for anyone who is not good with steps - there are 134 steps between the tennis court and the house and when you have just been thrashed three sets to love that is probably 130 too many! Fabulous pool.

About location:

Would have been good to have had more information about the remoteness and the roughness of the track to get to it. That said once you were there the views were stunning

Klek is a small Adriatic coastal town in southern Dalmatian situated on the coast road between Split and Dubrovnik. About 80 people live there and make their living in farming, fishing, olive growing and tourism. Klek is a collection of simple seaside cottages, apartments and villas, gathered around a semi-circular bay with a large pebble beach where you can hire deck chairs, parasols and pedal boats. It is a good spot for a relaxing but activity-filled family vacation, great for cycling, climbing, tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, hiking, diving, sailing and fantastic swimming. The whole area is full of lovely beaches. At your doorstep are sea front restaurants, coffee shops, pizzerias and bakeries which provide hot delicacies. A few miles north-west up the road there is a sharp contrast in the scenery as the coast road swoops down to the delta of the River Neretva. The rich soil of the estuary has made it the fruit-basket of the whole region, with its fertile groves of oranges and lemons and networks of lakes, rivers, and canals. In the spring and early summer you will find roads lined with cherry, peach and apricot sellers, and in the autumn there will be luscious plums, and later lemons, oranges, grapes and clementines. Huge beefy tomatoes and succulent peppers and cucumbers are the basis of many local salads. The sea is rich in fish and shellfish, and local oysters from nearby Mali Ston are legendary. A very popular outing is the Photo Safari trip in a glass bottom boat, through the rivulets of the River Neretva, between the citrus trees. For longer day trips, you are within an hour's drive of Dubrovnik to the south and to the north, Makarska, which has lovely beaches. The nearby towns of Metkovic and Opuzen are well worth visiting and are the main shopping centres in the region.
