Overview
Villa Aquarius was built by a renowned architect for a discerning artistic owner. The villa’s white stone façade, large balconies and French windows match its cool white interior and an attractive glass staircase. The arrangement of rooms is simple and symmetrical, adding to the overwhelmingly relaxed feel of this house. The heated swimming pool at the back of the house is enclosed in a modern tasteful glass conservatory which can open up in hot weather and be closed for winter swimming. The villa is very private and in a quiet position, in a walled garden. The cool and sunny seaside atmosphere of this house is determined by the light which streams in from everywhere and the sleek furniture. A selection of colourful paintings finishes off the modern decor.
The villa is situated in a small village lane which follows the coastline just a few metres from the sea, which can be seen from the upstairs bedroom. The next beach is in walking distance approx 500 metres away. In this cool and elegant villa there is a great sense of privacy by the sea. There are numerous good beachfront restaurants and cafes along the bay and two grocery shops are in easy reach by car in just about 1 minute. And not to forget the various possibilities for water sports and boat excursions. There is also a good public transport link to Dubrovnik.
Accommodation
Ground floor
The villa is fully air conditioned and arranged on two floors. It is furnished with designer furniture, tasteful lighting and elegant art work that is perfect for the villa. Cream stone floors are throughout the villa. Stone steps lead through the garden to the stone terrace and the front door which leads to an open plan hallway with a stunning glass staircase. On entering the hallway, to your left is a lovely dining room with a white table and chairs. A partial wall separates this area from the kitchen which is also sleek, white and modern, with all usual appliances. To the right of the hall is a large and elegant sitting room with modern sofas and chairs, and a fireplace. The rooms are decorated with tasteful paintings. TV/DVD player and music system are ithere for your entertainment.
A washing machine, iron and ironing board are also provided.
First floor
A glass staircase leads up to the first floor with four double bedrooms, all of a similar size with private ensuite bathrooms. All bathrooms are tiled, with showers and heated towel rails. Towels are provided. The bedrooms are furnished with very comfortable double beds. The colour scheme is the same throughout, mainly whites, creams and beiges, with splashes of aqua and other colours provided by the art in the house.
Studio apartment
A separate studio apartment is located near the front terrace and has a lovely sitting area with double sofa bed and TV, a small dining table and a kitchenette, plus a bathroom with shower.
Outside
Pool
The large heated swimming pool is enclosed in a fully glass covered, elegant modern conservatory structure. The pool is at the back of the house with plenty of space for sun loungers. Pool towels are provided. The heated pool is perfect for use all year round.
Garden
The garden is laid out in terraces and is cool and green, completely enclosed within old stone walls. Stone steps lead through the garden up to the front veranda and on to the house. Antique stone pillars decorate the garden and are an interesting contrast to the sleek modern look of the whole villa. The veranda contains table and chairs for outdoor dining and comfortable lounging chairs. A lovely private corner with pergola covered in lush green foliage provides a shaded seating area with stone bench and table. The passionate cooks among you will enjoy cooking with local produce on the BBQ. There are two parking spaces.
