OVERVIEW
Villa Joan is a luxury family holiday home with large pool and fenced garden, in the northern part of Istria, almost touching Italy. Inland from the villa is the Tuscany-like countryside of central Istria, with award winning olive oils and wine. On the coast there are numerous Blue Flag beaches within a short drive. With healthy but delicious food and plenty of outdoor activities, a holiday in this luxury villa will leave you rested and full of wonderful experiences. Being linked with Rome for centuries, the Istria region is full of Roman architecture, boasting an authentic 2nd century AD Roman amphitheatre in the city of Pula. Coastal towns are incredibly beautiful - visit Porec (water sports centre and UNESCO site medieval Basilica), Rovinj (sophisticated beauty), Pula (beaches, shops, Amphitheatre, food, atmosphere), Umag (golf course and tennis school). Owners provide a free entrance ticket to the nearby Lanterna beach, which is a great place to swim, snorkel, play tennis, rent sun loungers and parasol and have snacks at the beach bar. Inland, the hilltop towns of Motovun (film festival), Groznjan (music), Oprtalj (antiques) and Momjan (wine and food) are very worth while visiting, as they are so romantic and have fabulous views, restaurants, bars and galleries.
ACCOMMODATION
Ground floor
The open plan ground floor starts with a stunning hallway in large grey and white Italian marble tiles, a crystal ball chandelier and a Hollywood style spiral staircase taking you to the bedroom quarters. The open plan ground floor living space is kept in soft, warm tones and impresses with its tasteful ambience, beautiful Italian designer furniture and lighting. For your entertainment there is a large TV in the living area and free WiFi access throughout. The dining table comfortably seats eight people and the adjoining modern kitchen with marble counter top and high quality appliances has everything you need to cook up a storm; Espresso machine, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils and table ware.
There is one double bedroom downstairs, with ensuite shower and doors opening up to the pool terrace.
First floor
A stunning staircase leads to the first floor with two wonderful ensuite bedrooms which have access to the beautiful first floor terrace where you can sunbathe and enjoy an evening drink.
Another lovely, air-conditioned bedroom has its own balcony. Super-king size plush blue double bed and tasteful lighting with own private shower is perfect for a good rest after a day of activities.
OUTSIDE
The villa has an enclosed, private garden with a heated swimming pool which measures 9 by 5 metres and is surrounded by sun beds and parasols. There is also an outdoor shower and pool towels are provided. Grassy lawn, barbecue and covered terrace with a long outdoor table, and a covered barbecue terrace with dining table.
