Luxury summer villa, Adriatic sea gently splashing at the garden gate, beautiful sea bay views, velvety sofas, sumptuous beds, marble and white Brac stone, and a whole load of other delicious things waiting for you in the amazingly charming village of Bobovisca on the island of Brac. This small fishing village is now a sailing paradise, and is so classy and still pretty much undiscovered. Several amazing seafront villas line up along the bay and a couple of cafes, a shop and two taveras, that is a good start for the day. Travel on a few miles to the famous, sea-sporty town of Bol, where the windsurfing is the main activity.

The villa is new, built in 2018 and enjoys a full sea view, with just a small village road passing by. A good amount of living space 321 square metres on a 800 metre plot, fenced and gated, with three balconies, four terraces , parking and privacy.

The villa is a gem...
We recently stayed at Luxury Villa Bay of Brac. The villa is a gem combining a modern and traditional aesthetic. The typical stone exterior of homes in Brac belies the modern architectural design. The house is positioned in an ideal spot overlooking the Adriatic and facing west, allowing for drinks/dinner on the patio while watching spectacular sunsets. There is an infinity pool right outside with a built-in jet stream and the blue Adriatic down a short flight of stairs. The home offers two kitchens - one inside and one outside - both with new modern appliances. The kitchens are very large and there is ample refrigerator space for drinks. The home offers three dining areas - one on the patio facing the water, inside the home with large windows facing the sea, and one smaller area in the back built into a rock grotto. There are two bedrooms downstairs and three large bedrooms upstairs with great views. If you like, you can even sleep outside in a bed hanging in the air with four ropes. The area is very peaceful and the nearby beach is often empty. A path along the water leads to a small seaside village Bobovišća na moru that has two restaurants and a small grocery store. Larger grocery stores are located short drive away in neighbouring towns. To access the house, you will have to drive down a bumpy gravel road with some steep sections. The road ensures privacy and a tranquil setting, but I strongly recommend a four-wheel drive car. If you don’t rent a car, a local taxi service is also available for transportation.

Finally, our hosts were incredible and very welcoming. Their focus was to make our time at the villa as seamless and enjoyable as possible. They were always available by phone and quickly responded to any requests we made. It was obvious that their aim was to help us have a wonderful vacation. This is a fabulous villa in an idyllic setting!

About location:

Location is tranquil and ideal for a relaxing vacation. The villa is located in a small cove with a beach that is a two-minute walk away. Two good restaurants are located about a 15-minute walk from the villa.

On the western side of the third largest Croatian Island, Brac, just north of Milna town, there is a deep, narrow inlet which at the far end creates a charming, sheltered harbour around which is centred the small seaside village of Bobovisca by the Sea. The village is full of old stone houses and new stone-built villas. Everyone who reaches it from the sea, by boat, is stunned by the charm and authenticity of this fishing village surrounded by green pines and olive groves. It can also be easily reached by a 20 minute car ride from Supetar, where you will land on the ferry ride from Split, or from Sumartin if your ferry goes from Makarska. This is what the Adriatic is all about: a beautiful harbour with restaurants serving locally caught fish, and an old Renaissance manor house lording it over other attractive houses and villas. Beaches are studded all along the coast and the sea is really crystal clear. Here life definitely flows along at a slower pace. People who live in mainland Split have their ancestral homes in Bobovisca, which are now lovingly rejuvenated and used as summer holiday villas. A small local population tends the vineyards and olive groves, and makes their living by fishing. Nowadays many rent their homes, but it is definitely a low density, high level tourism. Some of the newly built villas are among the most luxurious to be found in Croatia. You can swim right in the village, rent boats, sail, dive, go rock climbing. If you are interested in the local culture and history, visit the churches of St George (17 century) and St Martin, and a well known archaeological site of Greek settlements in Vija Luka part of the village. Spend a lazy morning in a seaside cafe, or venture further afield to Milna, Postira and the famous Bol, with its great beach the Golden Horn. You will love Bobovisca and the whole island of Brac.

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
