Accommodation

Main villa

The main part of the villa is south facing and arranged as a ground foor and a first floor gallery. All accommodation is on the ground floor, including the two bedrooms and bathroom. There is an open plan living/dining area with the kitchen on the ground floor. The floor is tiled with characteristic local terracota tiles, and there are wooden beam ceilings, in the style of old Croatian seaside homes. The whole space is very inviting, elegant but also homely. Quality individual pieces of old furniture and modern Croatian art contribute to the attraction of this villa, and the sun streams through the windows, bringing in the light and the view of the greenery and the stunning pool. In the sitting area there is a three seater sofa and two white armchairs, and there are additional chairs scattered around the rooms. There is also a satellite TV/DVD player, CD player and WiFi. Three steps lead from this area to a well appointed kitchen with a small breakfast bar which has a fridge freezer, cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, juicer, toaster, mixer, washing machine, iron and ironing board. All the cooking utensils, plates, glasses and cutlery are provided. The glass dining table can accommodate 4-8 people. This area is air-conditioned, centrally heated and underfloor heating in the sitting room. From the hallway there is access to a separate wc, and two double bedrooms which share a bathroom, all on the ground floor. The pretty bedrooms have terracotta flooring, simple white walls, double beds and storage space. All bed linen and towels are included. A wooden staircase leads to the galleried ara which is a second sitting room/study with a desk.

Separate apartment

The large two bedroom, air-conditioned apartment is all a single storey building. It has a small kitchen, with a cooker, toaster and microwave, a sitting area with sofas, satellite TV/CD player, a dining table for four, and a modern bathroom. One bedrooom has a double bed, and the other is furnished with twin beds. In front of the apartment is its stone terrace with an outside shower, sunbeds, outdoor dining table. Brethtaking views and a very pretty apartment.

Outside

The villa has a stunning pool with sea view, with sunbeds and sun umbrellas on the sunbathing terrace. By the pool is a summer kitchen with wc and a barbecue. A separate covered stone terrace has terracotta tiles and typical stone pillars supporting the roof, with an amazing sea view. This terrace has a bread oven, dining table, coffee table and armchairs. There is also a second stone terrace with more garden furniture to relax in the sun, or enjoy wonderful sunsets. The whole garden is very beautiful, surrounded by scented pine trees, planted with bougainvillea, lemons, oranges, olive trees, palms, sage, lavender and rosemary.
Fantastic location
Fantastic location with views over the small harbour.
The villa is set in beautiful grounds on the side of a hill. Steps between the accommodation areas and the pool so would not be
ideal for someone with walking difficulties.
Car also very useful as the only local restaurant is quite average.

On the western side of the third largest Croatian Island, Brac, just north of Milna town, there is a deep, narrow inlet which at the far end creates a charming, sheltered harbour around which is centred the small seaside village of Bobovisca by the Sea. The village is full of old stone houses and new stone-built villas. Everyone who reaches it from the sea, by boat, is stunned by the charm and authenticity of this fishing village surrounded by green pines and olive groves. It can also be easily reached by a 20 minute car ride from Supetar, where you will land on the ferry ride from Split, or from Sumartin if your ferry goes from Makarska. This is what the Adriatic is all about: a beautiful harbour with restaurants serving locally caught fish, and an old Renaissance manor house lording it over other attractive houses and villas. Beaches are studded all along the coast and the sea is really crystal clear. Here life definitely flows along at a slower pace. People who live in mainland Split have their ancestral homes in Bobovisca, which are now lovingly rejuvenated and used as summer holiday villas. A small local population tends the vineyards and olive groves, and makes their living by fishing. Nowadays many rent their homes, but it is definitely a low density, high level tourism. Some of the newly built villas are among the most luxurious to be found in Croatia. You can swim right in the village, rent boats, sail, dive, go rock climbing. If you are interested in the local culture and history, visit the churches of St George (17 century) and St Martin, and a well known archaeological site of Greek settlements in Vija Luka part of the village. Spend a lazy morning in a seaside cafe, or venture further afield to Milna, Postira and the famous Bol, with its great beach the Golden Horn. You will love Bobovisca and the whole island of Brac.

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
