In a pretty, wine growing village a short drive from a very lovely and famous small town of Bol there is a newly restored stone cottage with bags of charm and comfort. This holiday home is very fresh and stylish inside and traditional on the outside. You are surrounded by vineyards and pine woods and some fine sandy and pebble beaches. Also do visit the mysterious Dragon's Cave and a nearby monastery. The sea is really crystal clear and lovely to swim in, and you can see the island of Brac across the sea.

Ground floor

On the ground floor there is a living area covered with flagstones, comprising the sitting room, kitchen and dining area all in an open plan arrangement. In addition, there is a double bedroom with a shower enclosure with a direct access to a terrace. This pretty bedroom has oak parquet flooring, new double bed, a hand painted bureau and a view of the pool terrace through the full size doors. With own TV and a/c, it is a heavenly bedroom. The modern kitchen is extensively equipped with a fridge freezer, induction hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, juicer, cooking utensils and tableware. An attractive dining table can sit 6 people comfortably. The L-shaped sofa has plenty of seating and can also open out into a double bed for the extra 2 guests.

First floor

Stone and wrought iron stairs lead from the sitting area up to the first floor. The first floor comprises a sumptuous large double bedroom with an armchair, a desk, wardrobe and an en-suite shower and a smaller, stylish bedroom with separate twin beds, also with en-suite shower, plenty of towels and hot water. Both bedrooms have excellent bed linen and wonderful sea views.


The outdoor area of Stone Cottage Bol is equally inviting and special. Sea views are incredible. The pool measures 28 square meters and is supplied with excellent quality sun beds, pool towels and parasols. There is an outdoor shower. By the pool terrace is a covered area with a stone built barbecue and dining table with wicker armchairs. To top it all, a separate little nook has a wicker sofa for lazing around and looking at the sea.

On the southern side of the island of Brac, Bol has examples of 15th and 17th century architecture but is best known for its famous beach, Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn, a shingle spit stretching out over 600 metres into the sea. A focal point for water sports, Bol offers opportunities for scuba diving, wind surfing,. A delightful promenade shaded by pine trees runs from Bol town to the Golden Horn beachBol is a lively tourist centre with a charming old town around the harbour. Bol is arguably the most beautiful town on the magical island of Brac. Stone cottages, village squares and palazzos surround the harbour and a small marina. Further along the promenade world class new villas nestle close to one of the most famous beaches in the world, Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn). Bol has many other beaches and a very vibrant day and night life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the harbour and can be found in the narrow streets of the old town. In summer, there are art shows, concerts, theatres and sporting events, as well as discos and nightclubs. Bol is ideal for sporty types and you can play mini football, volleyball, basketball, hire bikes, go hiking and free climbing. Bol is famous for water sports like scuba diving and windsurfing , paragliding, wake boarding and being towed behind speedboats on inflatable donuts and bananas and much more. It is a windsurfing paradise. For the fittest, there is a trip up the mountain Vidova Gora to visit the monastery and the Dragon's cave.

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
