Additional Information

Loved the villa and location
Loved the villa and location, so close to Zlatni Rat beach. Easy to swim before breakfast when it was quiet and then good in the late
afternoon when the party vibe got going. Grown up kids loved it and Bol a great village with lots of watersports, parasailing and
donutting close to hand. Pool was excellent and much used. The comment on the advertisement saying we could pick any fruit/veg
in the garden was exaggerated. We didn't find anything to pick!
Lucky there were only 5 of us, and not 7, as there might have been. The advertised self contained annexe with a bedroom,
kitchenette is now a storage facility. We were intending to use it as we have 3 very tall children and 2 had to share a double bed
instead. The A/C was just about ok, though granted it was a very hot week. The bedrooms were very hot and stuffy as the nearest
A/C unit was at the end of the corridor, so no bedrooms had it. Also, the 'waterfall' spout into the pool was not working. So, facilities
good as far as they went but slight misrepresentation regarding how many the villa slept.

About location:

Excellent location only 2 minutes walk from the sea and Zlatni Rat beach

On the southern side of the island of Brac, Bol has examples of 15th and 17th century architecture but is best known for its famous beach, Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn, a shingle spit stretching out over 600 metres into the sea. A focal point for water sports, Bol offers opportunities for scuba diving, wind surfing,. A delightful promenade shaded by pine trees runs from Bol town to the Golden Horn beachBol is a lively tourist centre with a charming old town around the harbour. Bol is arguably the most beautiful town on the magical island of Brac. Stone cottages, village squares and palazzos surround the harbour and a small marina. Further along the promenade world class new villas nestle close to one of the most famous beaches in the world, Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn). Bol has many other beaches and a very vibrant day and night life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the harbour and can be found in the narrow streets of the old town. In summer, there are art shows, concerts, theatres and sporting events, as well as discos and nightclubs. Bol is ideal for sporty types and you can play mini football, volleyball, basketball, hire bikes, go hiking and free climbing. Bol is famous for water sports like scuba diving and windsurfing , paragliding, wake boarding and being towed behind speedboats on inflatable donuts and bananas and much more. It is a windsurfing paradise. For the fittest, there is a trip up the mountain Vidova Gora to visit the monastery and the Dragon's cave.

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.
