Villa Vicky is a typical Croatian seaside stone house with pale blue shutters, beautifully renovated in 2005 to retain its original features and character, at the same time providing great comfort with all modern amenities, and a beautiful setting for the guests inside its private walled garden with a pool and a barbecue. The total area of the house is 145 sqm. The villa enjoys lovely sea views from most of its rooms and terraces, including a roof terrace.

The villa is located in the centre of a very charming little town of Milna on the island of Brac. It is close to restaurants, coffee bars and shops, and within 300 metres from the garden is the sea. The town centre is 200 metres away, where you will find grocery shops, bakeries, market, banks, many cafes and restaurants, doctor and a pharmacy.

A warm Mediterranean feel of the ground floor living area is emphasised by a wooden floor, terracotta and stone walls, wooden beams and large blue sofa and armchairs. The open-plan kitchen-dining area is at the other end of this space, with a Mediterranean -blue kitchen, a breakfast bar and a large table that can seat 8-10 persons. The doors open out from the kitchen onto a charming stone paved garden, with a shaded dining terrace and a purple bougainvillea, providing a sunny outdoors/indoors easy summer atmosphere. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a ceramic hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee filter machine and a microwave oven, with good kitchen utensils, plates and glasses. On the ground floor is an additional WC/cloakroom, which contains a washing machine. The villa comes with a satellite TV and wireless Internet and a Hi-fi. Hair drier, iron, ironing board and a washing machine are also provided.

First floor

On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms. Wooden floors and white walls are in keeping with the tasteful simplicity of the house decor. One bedroom has a large double bed and wardrobe made of quality wood, whilst the second bedroom comes with elegant wrought iron twin beds. Bed linen is of excellent quality and plenty of towels are provided. The bedrooms share a nice bathroom with a large bath. From this floor there are lovely sea views.

Second floor

On the second floor, in the attic space with wooden beams, there is a main double bedroom furnished in traditional country style in cream colours, with an additional sofa bed and an en-suite shower. This room opens out on its own secluded terrace with a fine view of the sea and the entire bay.

An outdoor, private oval shaped pool, tiled in blue mosaic and with an outside shower is in the garden. Plenty of sun loungers are provided for the guests. The area of the pool is 24 square metres.

The villa garden is surrounded by marvelous traditionally built stone walls. An outside stone staircase with wrought iron railings is a stunning decorative feature of the villa. There is a large stone paved garden terrace which is partially covered, with tables and chairs, an outdoor barbecue and plenty of garden furniture. The garden is full of lovely plants, lavender, rosemary, bougainvillea, geraniums and lemon trees.

Private beach plot

The villa has the use of a private seafront plot of land with its own beach which is 2km away from the villa and can only be reached by boat. A boat transfer can be arranged at a small cost. This private beach is surrounded by the shade, cover and the smell of pine trees. The beach is a spectacular blend of turquoise and aquamarine blue in a bay frequently visited by the yachting and boating community. On the beach there is decking for sun loungers and a covered eating/sitting area. There is also a simple hammock and easy access in to the sea from the beach. The beach can be used on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

In a word superb!
In a word superb! We wanted something special for a truly relaxing break and Villa Vicky delivered. The villa is charming and very
clean. The outside areas are beautifully maintained and cared for with everything one needs. It really is a little oasis: secluded,
beautiful and very quiet (between the passionate bell ringing sessions from the local church tower) The small port of Milna is a
delight in a non-commercial non-nightclub way. Only 3 mins from the villa you have a beautiful little marina port with about 10
restaurants and some bars most of which, if not on the waterfront have pretty views of the boats and water. Ivan is a perfect host,
ready to help but not intrusive; all his recommendations were very good. We hired a boat one day and Ivan kindly escorted us to the
family's private land which sits at the head of an inlet where we enjoyed a lovely day sunbathing and swimming in clear waters.
We are a family of 4, my wife and I and our son and daughter had a lovely room each although the Villa could comfortably
accommodate 6. Conie, a small sociable tortoise, charmed us all.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone who wants a quality break. Treat yourselves - we will again!

Open the entrance gate and you feel you're in paradise.
Getting to the villa involves a bit of a trek up alleys and steps in the old and beautiful town of Milna. Open the entrance gate and you feel you're in paradise.
The house is a few centuries old and has all the character of age, with all the amenities you could wish for. It is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need.
There's a beautiful shaded outdoor eating area by the barbecue; a garden area behind the house with a trampoline, table tennis, and a playhouse for the kids.
There's even a pet tortoise in the garden my grandson fell in love with.
If you're at all like us you'll spend happy days by the pool, venturing out occasionally for boat trips from the harbour or a lazy drink by the quayside as the sun goes down.

The staff in the villa were friendly and helpful and we felt very well looked after.
The one thing you do need to bear in mind is that it's really only a place for the able bodied. You can only park your car ten minutes walk from the property; you have to climb steps and steep paths to get to it; and even more steps once you get there, as its many levels are part of its character and charm.
We were very sad to leave. But hope one day to be returning...

Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? Yes.

About location:

Milna is a beautiful old town with lots of alleyways to explore and restaurants that serve delicious food. Especially seafood....
Milna is the safest harbour on the island of Brac, for centuries welcoming sailors and yachtsmen coming from Split across the sea and now boasting two excellent marinas. It is on the north-west side of the island, 18km from Supetar where the Split ferry lands. The substantial village is centred around a huge bay with a very charming harbour full of yachts and fishing boats. Smart cafes and restaurants line the harbour and there are good bakeries, shops and market. A few minutes away are several beaches you can reach on foot. Typical Mediterranean stone cottages with red roofs give Milna its classical charm, and there is also a Baroque church with paintings of Venetian masters, worth seeing. There are some great villas with pools right in Milna town, and a bit further out of town are the Osibova, Lucica and Duboka Bays where you will find grand new villas perching on the seashore among pine woodland. Nearby Bobovišća village is also great to visit, with new luxurious villas as well. Water sports such as scuba-diving, sailing or fishing are available. In the summer Milna hosts a few summer fetes with song and dancing in the harbour, and a very popular “Fisherman’s Night” where you get traditional local food and music in the streets

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
