This Croatian family villa comprises 120 square metres of living space and has been meticulously restored, retaining the exquisite stone façade, red roof, green shutters, and a special Brac white slate roof on the outbuildings. The villa has a typical Dalmatian outdoor stone staircase which leads to the upper floor, but there is also an indoor wooden staircase. The light and airy theme dominates indoors, with pale floors downstairs and warm wood flooring in the bedrooms upstairs. Splashes of yellow and green in the bathroom and living room liven up the space, and the house spills out onto the paved terraces and garden, with a gorgeous private pool to cool in. Luxury villa Margot is quite magical. The villa is located in a small village a few kilometres from Supetar and approximately 800 metres from the beach.

Ground floor

The ground floor comprises of a sitting/dining room, kitchen, small utility room, one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a downstairs WC. The sitting room has cream coloured floor tiles, and a pretty yellow suite of two three- seater and one two -seater sofas which can open out into an extra double bed. French doors open out onto a paved courtyard, bringing light into the sitting room. A wood fireplace provides heat in cooler months, and a large table, seating 8 persons comfortably is in one corner of the sitting room. Here you will find a satellite TV/DVD player and a music system. The solid wood kitchen is stylishly tiled and well equipped with an electric hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dish washer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, iron, plenty of cooking utensils, plates and glasses. From the kitchen you walk out onto a lovely stone-paved terrace with table and chairs for outdoor dining. The downstairs bedroom is tiled with terracotta tiles, and has an extra large double bed with and en-suite bathroom, a small writing desk and its own door to a little private garden terrace. There is also a shower room by the outside terrace.

First floor

An elegant wooden staircase leads from the sitting room to the two upstairs bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has a large double bed and bedroom 3 has twin beds. They share a blue and white tiled family bathroom. From the bedrooms you can see the azure blue Adriatic sea. Soap, shampoo and plenty of towels are provided. All three bedrooms have satellite TV.

The garden is very pretty and consists of lawn and paved terraces. Gorgeous Mediterranean flowers and plants such as palm trees and purple bougainvilleas grow in the garden. From this lovely garden area there is a view of the village church tower. A mosaic pool has a whirlpool spa and can be heated. It is situated at the side of the house, among stone paved sunbathing terraces and raised wooden decking, with sun loungers. Next to the pool is a covered terrace with a stone oven/barbecue and outdoor dining table, providing shade. Several paved patios and terraces with seating benches, or table and chairs, are scattered around the villa. The potted plants are geraniums, hydrangeas, a variety of flowers and roses in flower beds.

The most idyllic holiday
We have just returned, with sadness, from the most idyllic holiday in Villa Margot, a fabulous villa on the island of Brac managed by Croatian Villa Holidays. Our host, met us with home made bread and home grown tomatoes and it just got better and better from then. Her recommendations for taxi drivers to restaurants was superb. And as for the Villa - one of the best I have ever stayed at. If all of the villas are to this standard (and we know that they are), this is where we start planning next year's holiday.

Mirca on the north side of Brac island is "the village of walls" which were built to protect it in ancient times. It is also a village in two parts: the old village of stone cottages and the more recent village with great villas and holiday homes along the beach. It is a quieter neighbour of a larger town called Supetar, which has supermarkets, numerous restaurants, bars and cafes and is only 3 km away (2 miles). In Mirca you will find lovely sandy and pebbly beaches which are great for family swimming and often have a small beach cafe or a restaurant nearby. The relaxing, low key island life gets only marginally busier in the summer, the emphasis still on resting, cycling, walking along the sea shore, amongst olives, vineyards and pine woods all the way to Supetar (20 min). As an olive growing village, it also has an interesting Olive Museum. In charming old streets there are summer events and art exhibitions. In the small village harbour a place can be found for a small yacht, booking in advance is not possible. For nightlife, children's aqua park and activities go to Supetar.

Getting there. Easy to get to, catch a frequent ferry from Split to Supetar, enjoy the scenic 55 min ride, and take a taxi to Mirca (10 min). Or take your own hire car on the car ferry. We can organise private boat transfers and boat trips.
