OVERVIEW
Luxury Villa Decca on Hvar Island is a dream holiday home in Stari Grad, the lesser known, slightly quieter and a more understated historic town than the famous Hvar town which is within 20 minutes' drive from Stari Grad. The town of Stari Grad is a little gem surrounded by pine woodland, vineyards and olive groves, and numerous wonderful beaches and secret coves. In this charming town, lovely old houses and cottages mix with an old palazzo, forming an authentic Croatian Adriatic mix of architecture, with cobbled streets and town squares, seafront bars and lovely restaurants. Outdoor activities include water sports, boating, cycling, hiking, caving, horse riding, wine and olive tasting, and most importantly - safe swimming and snorkelling in the warm, clear and unpolluted sea. Hvar is undisputedly one of the most desirable holiday destinations in the world and Stari Grad on Hvar will not disappoint families with children or groups of adults seeking a relaxing and cultural vacation combined with a wide choice of outdoor activities. In addition, the food and wines are spectacular, with restaurants ranging from simple pizza huts or well-priced local fare of fresh fish, pasta, salads and meat in family run restaurants up to the Michelin star food which will still not break the bank!
Luxury Villa Decca Hvar is a private villa with pool, four bedrooms and four ensuite bathrooms (some with showers and some with a bath tub and shower), and a separate toilet. It is fully air conditioned and has WiFi. The villa comprises 300 square metres of living space and offers great privacy. The whole plot is about 2/3 of an acre or 3230 square metres. Looking over the incredibly beautiful Maslinica Bay this beautiful villa with heated pool is just over two miles (4.2km) from the centre of Stari Grad and only 50 metres from the sea. If you walk one third of the mile (ca 500 metres), you will reach the gorgeous sandy beach Maslinica which is perfect for building sandcastles and has an easy shallow sea entrance and a parking area.
If you are after nightlife, Stari Grad on Hvar has several bars which provide music entertainment in the evening. For really serious clubbers visit Hvar Town, 20 minutes by taxi. Here are several famous bars/clubs (e.g. Carpe Diem) and people are up throughout the warm Hvar night. A must visit is also Carpe Diem Beach Club on Pakleni islands, which is easily reached by a ferry or private taxi boat. During the day, enjoy fantastic beach life and hire a cabana (optional and pricey) and dance away the night.
ACCOMMODATION
Ground floor
The ground floor is one light, bright sunny space letting the view of the sea and the islands into your living room. You will be dining looking at the sea, or cosying up on the L-shaped sofa in front of the telly and a fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen has an island with several very good bar stools - have a cocktail in your own bar! The kitchen is supplied with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, smart tableware and cookware. Laundry and ironing services, as well as a baby cot and high chair, are available on request at an additional cost. On the ground floor there is one double bedroom which has an ensuite bathroom with a magnificent stone hewn bath and hand basin, and a guest toilet.
First floor
The first floor comprises of three cool double bedrooms. Two bedrooms have super king-size beds with ensuite walk-in showers, and the fourth bedroom has twin beds and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. Fresh white bed linen and towels are provided.
OUTSIDE
The large Mediterranean garden of the luxury Villa Decca Hvar has a heated infinity pool of 31 square metres and virtually blends in with the sea. Step out of the house onto a travertine paved terrace and have an early morning dip, enjoy a healthy, fruity Mediterranean breakfast, do a mile breast stroke in the sea…and do like the Croatians do, have a siesta after lunch. Refresh yourself with the pool shower and put on the barbecue. The outdoor dining table offers incomparable sea views which will be hard to find anywhere. Or go exploring the streets of Stari Grad, its harbour cafes and lovely restaurants before you return to your pool and garden for a night cup and your incredibly comfortable bed.
