Overview
This Island Gem is located on the Island of Solta, a magical place with crystal clear sea, secret coves, pine forests and unspoilt Adriatic nature. The island is very close to the famous town of Split, vibrant with markets, great shops, fantastic restaurants, harbour cafes and lively nightlife. Split is also full of culture and history, you will walk past a Roman forum and temples, fabulous Diocletian's palace from the 3rd century, renaissance squares and churches, with delicious ice-cream around every corner, all wonderful tastes, smells and sights. This is the country of sunshine, olive oil, scented herbs and honey, great local wines and excellent, fresh local food. Villa Island Gem on Solta island is a very good base to explore the UNESCO´s protected cities of Split and Trogir (a must!), nearby Islands of Brac and Hvar (very well worth visiting) or Krka waterfalls national park near Sibenik (a must!).
This charming villa is within a short distance of the village harbour, just 190 metres to the beach, and has magnificent, leafy surroundings and a view of Split on the mainland. The island has its own excellent fresh food market and many simple, family run local restaurants supplied by local farmers, fishermen and wine growers.
Accommodation
The villa sits on a 300 square metre plot, in a cosy, well fenced garden full of lovely outdoor spaces where you can enjoy memorable sea views. The villa has 100 square metres of living space (and another 100 square metres of terraces) and is arranged as two separate apartments, one on ground floor, the other on the first floor, sleeping a maximum of seven people. It is ideal for two families, or the families with teenagers.
Ground floor
A pretty, open planned sitting room with an L -shaped sofa-bed and a dining table for six, large screen satellite TV/home cinema with 3D Blu Ray DVD player with surround sound system, WiFi and stereo. Double bedroom with a double bed, also with TV/home cinema with 3D Blu Ray DVD player with surround sound system. Bed linen, towels, shampoo, soap and hairdryer are provided. On the ground floor there is a brand new bathroom with a hydro-massage bath, excellent tiles and bathroom furniture. The modern red kitchen is equipped, with a fridge-freezer, cooker, hob, microwave, juicer, toaster, kettle, ice maker, a full set of cooking utensils and pretty table ware. There is also a washer/dryer.
First floor
Another pleasant, open planned sitting room with a leather sofa, and a dining table for six, large screen satellite TV/3D Blu Ray DVD player with surround sound system, playstation 4 with new games provided, stereo. There are two double bedrooms, each with a double bed and sat TV. Bed linen, towels, shampoo, soap and hairdryer are provided. On this floor there is new hydro-massage shower. The white modern kitchen is equipped, with a fridge-freezer, cooker, hob, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, a full set of cooking utensils and pretty table ware. Along the length of the first floor, there is a balcony wrapping around the sitting room and bedroom, all the way to the upper terrace with outdoor furniture and stunning sea views.
Outside
The outdoor areas of this lovely Island Gem villa on Solta island are very well designed and furnished. There are terraces paved with the local stone, edged with Mediterranean greenery and the natural woodland backdrop at the back of the house. On several terraces there are top quality armchairs and sun loungers, parasols and dining tables. A lovely stone barbecue will keep you busy. On the ground floor terrace there is a hot whirlpool tub which can seat six people. There is also an outdoor shower. It is a short 190 metres walk downhill to the beach and to the local sea front restaurant.
