There are two marina in Biograd. Nearby to the south is the historical city of Šibenik and inland from Sibenik the river and waterfalls of the Krka National Park. You can swim from beaches just one hundred metres from the centre of Biograd. for example Bosana beach, a pebble beach with a gradual entrance into the sea, located on the northwest side of town near marina Kornati. Bošana beach has beach volleyball, several restaurants, shops and fast food. The beach is also equipped with changing cabins and showers. For a more peaceful environment take a boat over to the forest-covered Pašman island which is close by. Beaches in Tkon on the south of the island are sandy and shallow and just a short crossing from Biograd.
One of the most famous beaches is the sandy beach Matlovac in Zdrelac at the northern end of the island. With clear water, sand and shallow entry it is ideal for families with small children. The beach is surrounded by cafes, volleyball courts, ice cream shops. Another island worth visiting for its sandy beaches is Vrgada. A small island between Pasman and Murter, there are regular ferry services from Biograd and Pakostane. The best sandy beaches are on the northeastern side of the island.Seven kilometres inland is the Vranska Lake which is a bird sanctuary and rich in wild life. There is a cycle path around the lake and you can swim there. The lake is also popular with fishermen and fishing passes can be obtained.
