Overview

An old Dubrovnik villa, restored in 2013, comprises 150 square metres of living space and sits in a 2000 square metres of gated garden, surrounded by lush Mediterranean greenery. The villa offers privacy and is well placed for day trips to Dubrovnik and numerous surrounding pebbly and sandy beaches, as well as to nearby Montenegro with its wonderful, historic town of Kotor, just 10km away. In this lush and fertile region of Dubrovnik which is known as Konavle, you are within an easy reach of local restaurants which serve excellent Mediterranean fare. You can also have a really active holiday: cycling, horse riding hiking, river fishing, boating and all kinds of water sports are available in the area. A special product of this region is silk, and a wonderful Konavle silk stitch is still made by Dubrovnik ladies, into smart table cloths and decorated shirts. You can visit the silk farms in the area, and learn the process.

Accommodation

The villa is arranged on two floors. Air conditioning units are in the hallway and the first floor bedrooms. The ground floor is naturally fairly cool.

Ground floor

Air con unit is in the hallway. Ground floor comprises of a large living room with parquet flooring and exit to the wonderful, private garden. An L-shaped sofa and an armchair are near LCD TV, DVD player and HiFi and there is access to free WiFi. The modern dining table seats 8 people and the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, cooker, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils and tableware. On this floor are two bedrooms, one double and one twin bedroom, sharing a shower room which also houses a washing machine. One of the bedrooms also has a wall mounted TV. All bed linen and towels are provided. A guest toilet is also on this floor.

First floor

Air con units is in the hallway. On the first floor are two more double bedrooms and a shared bath with a bath tub. These bedrooms have access to private balconies.

Outside

The garden has a private outdoor pool, which is very large, 10 metres by 4.5 metres (range of depth 0.5 to 1.6 metres). There are 8 sun loungers and 6 parasols, and an outdoor dining table and chairs.

Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport is located near the town of Cavtat 19km to the south of Dubrovnik. There are direct flights to Dubrovnik from most European countries and from Philadelphia in the USA.

 

There are bus and taxi services into Dubrovnik centre. A taxi transfer can be expected to cost around 35 to 40 euro one way depending on the time of day and the season and a minibus around 50-60 euros.   A shuttle bus service from the airport to Dubrovnik is 7.5 euro per person each way.
