Accommodation

All accommodation is on two floors, principally arranged as two apartments, and suitable for larger groups or two families. The ground floor consists of one double and one single bedroom, a shower room, a bathroom with a bath tub and an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The second floor consists of a living room, terrace (40 square metres), 2 double and one single bedroom, each with en-suite shower rooms. In all, the villa has five bath or shower rooms.

Ground floor

The ground floor living area of the villa comprises 40 square metres within which there is a nicely furnished living room, dining area and a modern kitchen. The living area is tiled with sand coloured tiles and has high French doors, which open out onto a charming courtyard. The large L-shaped leather sofa and armchairs provide plenty of seating, and the sofa can be used as an extra double bed. There is also an LCD satellite TV, Hi-Fi, DVD player and USB dongle internet access. The kitchen is new and modern, equipped with stove, oven, fridge with freezer, microwave, electric kettle, coffee machine, juice maker, blender, toaster, cot and feeder for the baby. There are plenty of good cooking utensils, glassware and cutlery. Between the sitting area and the kitchen is a glass dining table for eight people. In addition, in the kitchen there is a small breakfast bar with two chairs. From the hallway you reach two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single bed, a shower room and another bathroom, which has a bath tub and a washing machine. All bed linen and towels are provided.

First floor

An outdoor staircase leads to the first floor. This floor has its own sitting room which opens out onto a large 40 square metre terrace. There are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, each with their own shower room.

Outside

The villa has a pretty garden with many different interesting corners. There is a beautiful stone terrace with a stone fireplace/barbecue, a traditional feature of every Dalmatian residence. There is also a table for dining outdoors. In the south part of the garden there is a very nice pool (7m x 3m) surrounded by a sunbathing terrace with sun loungers and umbrellas. A second terrace with a set of garden furniture is next to the pool area. The pool is private and protected by a lovely natural stone wall, beyond which stretches the woodland, bringing in the fresh scent of pine trees. The whole garden, and around the pool area, is full of summer flowers of wonderful colour.

Small stone village with a sculpture of Hercules! Between Postira and Supetar, on the north shore of Brac lies the Splitska cove. In the nearby quarry, Rasohe, still stands a chiselled figure of Heracles - work of one of the Diocletian’s sculptors. The Romans used the white Brac stone to build the world famous Diocletian's palace in Split. Just 400 people live in Splitska, traditionally fishing, quarrying stone and making delicious wines and olive oils. The village is beautiful, peaceful and has plenty of very attractive beaches often with pine woods down to the shore proving delightful shade. Splitska itself is reached by winding down a pretty road from the main road above and feels a bit like a fairy tale village by the sea! Two very close and interesting places to visit are Skrip and Dol. Skrip is just under 10 minutes drive away on the hill above Splitska. Skrip is the oldest settlement on the island. It has a museum and the remnants of a castle and ancient city walls. Its well worth a visit to get a feel of the island's Illyrian and Roman past.

Island of Brac

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and take the regular ferry crossings from Split ferry port to Supetar on Brac. The ferry port is a 25 minute drive from Split Airport. The ferry (car or foot passenger) takes 45 minutes and there are regular crossings during the summer. A bus service from Split Airport to the ferry port in Split is also available.

The ferry timetable for the Jadrolinija line from Split to Supetar on the island of Brac can be found on the Jadrolinija website. Cars can be hired at Split Airport. They can also be hired on arrival at Supetar from local firm MB Renta on the harbour front. Scooters and bicycles can also be rented. The local bus company, Autotrans runs buses several times a day between the principal towns on the island. Timetables can be found on the Autotrans website.

There is also a regular car ferry service from Makarska on the mainland directly to Sumartin at the south east end of the island (see Jadrolinija website for sailing schedule and prices). This crossing is convenient if arriving from the direction of Dubrovnik. There is also a passenger ferry service to Brac running four days a week from Split directly to the town of Milna. Details also on the Jadrolinija website.

Brac has its own small airport near the town of Bol. Light aircraft can fly into this airport and there are connections from Split Airport. Information on the Brac airport website.

If travelling to Brac from the Dubrovnik direction it is preferable to take the ferry crossing from Makarska to Sumartin. The service is less frequent than the Split/Supetar crossing and it is essential to check the timetable on the Jadrolinija website.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split.
