Attractive town around a harbour - restaurants and bars and beaches nearby
Malinska is a small town focused around an attractive harbour and has a beautiful tree lined shore with many pretty bays and sandy beaches. It is located 15km from the bridge that connects island Krk to the mainland. It has been a tourist destination since the 19th century. It has several beaches mainly pebble or man made. Beach Draga is suitable for children while Rupa beach in nearby Porat has been specially configured for use by disabled persons. Haludovo Beach is one of the best for children with a shallow entry and small pebbles and sand. 
There are footpaths and cycle routes comnnecting Malinska with other villages up and down the coast.  Malinska is a good location for a family holiday with plenty of restaurants and cafe and a range of activities available. For nightlife the town of Krk is a 15 minute drive or taxi ride.

For those with an interest in architecture and history there is a Franciscan monastery in Porat.  The Cickini archaeological site near Malinska is where the remains of a Roman village from the 1st and 2nd century and a church from the 6th century were discovered. In the village of Sv Vid-Miholjice, near Malinska, a small museum displays items found during the excavations at Cickini.
