OVERVIEW

If you are well informed, you may have heard of the magical island of Sipan, one of the three Elaphite islands which float in the sea not far from Dubrovnik. It is a place with a leisurely Mediterranean vibe, scented with dry rosemary, thyme, fennel and lavender, where people still fish in small boats and grow figs, olives, carob and grapes. The two small towns of Sipanska Luka and Sudjuradj provide some excellent restaurants and the beaches are heavenly. They also have old palaces and castles from the past, built by wealthy noblemen and Dubrovnik seafarers between the 12th and 17th century, where they came to refresh from Dubrovnik's summer heat. It is definitely a place where you can completely relax and enjoy the sunshine, whilst the hustle and bustle of the famous Dubrovnik is only a short ferry ride away.

Villa Scaparelli is a wonderfully restored country house with masses of grounds (four acres), and elegant interiors. Huge living area and five wonderful bedrooms, with everything necessary for your comfort and pleasure is in the villa. Enjoy long country walks through vineyards and olive groves, hire a bike and tour round the island, pop in to towns for a Mediterranean lunch (advisable to book). Rent a boat to explore Sipan and its sister islands Lopud and Kolocep, all extremely lovely. There are many beaches and the main one is in Sipanska Luka, a sandy beach. The villa offers excellent service - 2 hour maid service twice a week, a concierge to help and answer all your questions, and on request, at extra cost stocking up your fridge, chef and waiter, breakfast, extra cleaning, wine delivery.

Accommodation

Ground floor

A 50 square metre sitting and dining room are a model of understated simplicity and comfort, with cream sofas, pale grey Italian floor tiles, a TV, a large oak dining table for 10 people and every modern facility in the 22 square metre kitchen. Three floor to ceiling French doors open out on a beautiful terrace with long country views. The white eat-in kitchen has a round dining table, and is equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, mixer and a coffee machine. And lovely tableware and cook ware. A laundry room is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board,

First floor

The first floor comprises one master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms with twin beds each - or can be used as single bedrooms. The master bedroom overlooks the pool, vineyards and meadows and has its own ensuite bathroom, bed linen and towels. The double bed is king size, 200 by 180. The smaller bedrooms (10 square metres) each have their shower room and a bed which has a spare mattress to pull out from the base, so it can be a twin bedroom. Beds measure 90 by 200 cm each. All bed linen and towels are provided.

Second floor

Second floor comprises two larger double bedrooms, both with king size beds (180 by 200 cm), which can be separated into two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own shower rooms and each has a small individual hallway.

Outside

This villa has an incomparable garden which will give you a special Mediterranean experience. There are beautifully scented herbs of sage, thyme, marjoram, rosemary, fennel and lavender and many fruit trees - olive, almond, pomegranate, lemon, orange, all for you to use if you wish. The pool is very long, so serious swimmers will be pleased (12 by 3.6 metres) and in use from May to October. Ten sun loungers are provided. The pool terrace is 90 square metres, and you can have amazing al-fresco meals at the outdoor dining table, not far from the barbecue. The second terrace (50 square metres) is in front of the villa, and has good views of the sea in the distance. For your entertainment the villa offers a bowling court and table tennis.
