Villa Romilly is a very much loved, comfortable and quirky old stone cottage, situated close to the Istria town of Pula and lovingly restored by the present owners over a period of years. The location of this authentic Croatian family villa is excellent. It is secluded and private, with lots of space for entertainment and relaxation, but within 10 minutes' drive to the town, shops and sandy beaches. The villa is surrounded by ancient woodland and hidden in 2000 square metres (1/2 acre) garden, amongst Mediterranean trees and scented herbs. It is arranged as two separate apartments which is perfect for 2 families who want some privacy but also a lot of time together. Each apartment has its own separate entrance and sitting rooms/kitchens and terraces. However, the living area is larger and better equipped downstairs, where all can gather. It has air conditioning in the main, downstairs lounge and a wood burning stove. Electric fans are provided where there is no a/c.
This family villa is a foodie paradise as you can find excellent local produce in the town market and fish market. Not to mention the amazing gourmet restaurants or simple bistros, pizzerias (the town mayor eats there nearby!), many fantastic wineries with prize winning wines and the highest quality olive oil. You are in a perfect spot for activity holidays, from every type of sea sport, climbing, hiking and bicycling. Teenagers will find discos, nightclubs and seaside cafes. This historic area of Pula has much culture to offer, a 2000 year old Roman amphitheatre, Roman ruins, renaissance squares, little Venice-like seaside towns and more! Outdoor events, performances and concerts abound all year round, it is a place to be thoroughly enjoyed and revitalised in.
