Vizinada, positioned on the old road that ran through central istria before the motorway was built, commands a spectacular view across the valleys and hilltops of Central Istria. From this wonderful vantage point you can look down on the hilltop town of Motovun in the east and make out the spire of Groznjan church to the north. Vizinada is well placed to explore the towns, wineries and many fine restaurants of central istria. Furthermore the coastal towns of Novigrad and Porec are only a short drive; some 16 kilometres.If passing through Vizinada it is well worth stopping to enjoy the views. There is a tourist office, a general store and a couple of cafe bars/restaurants on the main road that passes close by the centre of Vizinada. The 19th century ballerina Carlotta Grisi was born here.
