Sucuraj travel guide

A picturesque and peaceful fishing village at the eastern tip of Hvar island. Plenty of beaches and a place of relaxation
Sucuraj is a delightful fishing village right at the eastern tip of Hvar island and nearest to the mainland. Full of charming old cottages and renovated villas it is a perfect place for sun worshipers and families spending the day swimming and snorkelling on one of the many sandy and pebbly town beaches. From May to October you just get sunny days! There are several shops, cafes bars and restaurants in this lovely understated place. The Upper Village (Gornja Banda) is on a slope and the Lower Village (Donja Banda) is located on the south side of the peninsula. Both are famous for great red wines. From the village you have a wonderful views across the Adriatic to Biokovo Mountain, Peljesac Peninsula, and the islands of Brac and Korcula - all are brilliant places to go and visit. Even though this is a quiet place, in summer months you will enjoy occasional Fisherman's Night with food, drink and dancing in the streets, or an odd rock concert. Hvar Town is at the other end of the island, 72 km away, and highly recommended for a day trip.
