Majestic, easy to get to, fishing villages and stone cottages, pristine beaches, olive groves, windsurfing paradise, mountain desert, small airport Brac is a stunning island, voted one of the most beautiful in the world. It is the third largest in Croatia, and the largest island in the Split region. It is very easy to reach from Split, where frequent ferries run all day round. The 50 minute scenic ferry ride is an event in itself, and you will feel the Brac vibe as soon as you disembark in the charming port of Supetar, where we usually have lunch of the freshest fish right in the harbour. The easy pace of life on Brac is infectious and you will definitely recharge your batteries there. Still, there is loads to do.

First, the lovely small towns of Milna, Postira, Pucisca, Sutivan, Sumartin, Selca, Mirca and a larger Bol are all a must to visit - each one of them shining with authentic beauty and loaded with history. Everywhere the food is good, excellent and simple local fare based on fresh ingredients. You can enjoy watersports everywhere, but Bol is especially known for windsurfing and its famous Golden Horn beach. Other stunning beaches are Lovrecina, Martinica, Osibova, Duboka, Lucice and Murvice. A fascinating place on Brac is its own mini desert, with a monastery perched on a cliff, a great day out for the more adventurous. We can truthfully say that Brac is a paradise for families, teenagers, sporty types, romantic gatherings, adult groups and everyone. You can rev it up, or slow down as much as you wish and you will want to return.

Getting there. The nearest airport is a small airport on Brac, where there are flights to and from Zagreb. The main airport is Split on the mainland. The ferry service form Split to Supetar runs every 90 minutes in the summer and the crossing is 50 minutes. There is also a less frequent service from Makarska on the mainland to Sumartin at the eastern end of the island.
